The Designer
About Loui
Loui’s journey into furniture design began at the age of 16 in his grandfather’s wood shop. Coming from a lineage of builders, innovators, and entrepreneurs, he carved his own path in design. Loui honours his heritage by using innovative materials in new and creative ways.
Loui pursued his studies in design at Emily Carr University in Vancouver, Canada, majoring in Industrial Design, with a formative semester abroad in Milan. Immersed in the Milanese design ethos, Loui developed a refined approach to form-making through advanced softwares, studies in anthropology and ergonomics, as well as design history. The influence of Milanese design is seen in how he emphasizes curvature, materiality, and simplicity.
In 2020, he earned a Master’s in Business for Architecture and Design from IE University in Madrid, Spain. Combining his academic foundation with hands-on work experience in research and development at a building technology firm, Loui established his eponymous design studio. His work is driven by a commitment to creating furniture that seamlessly integrates beauty, ingenuity, and ergonomics—enhancing everyday living through thoughtful, timeless design.
